Things only Type-B Teachers will Understand-The Series (#1)

The lesson plan that lives entirely in your head.

I HAVE a lesson plan.

It’s just…not on paper.

Some teachers have color-coded binders. Detailed slides. Backup plans.

I have a vision.

It exists somewhere between by morning iced coffee and the drive to work.

And honestly? It usually works.

Because here’s the secret no one talks about, after years in the classroom, YOU know the rhythm. You know where students struggle. You know when to pivot. You can feel when something’s landing, and when it’s flopping.

Is it written in a beautifully formatted template? No.

Is it thoughtful, intentional, and based on experience? Absolutely.

Type-B teachers don’t always over-script. We prepare mentally. We adjust in real time. We trust our instincts. And when admin asks, “Do you have your plans?” Yes. They’re just…internal.
